Bringing our story to life

Meet Sam

I have been working in digital marketing for over 5 years. During this time I’ve worked across a range of industries; however I've always had a keen interest in travel.

I'm originally from Perth on the west coast of Australia, and I've been based in the UK since 2023. I love Perth, but it’s very isolated, so moving across the world has allowed me to travel to new locations that I hadn’t seen, and I make sure to explore when I can.

I love my work as it allows me to be creative and expressive; while still letting me jump into technical projects and utilise my problem-solving skills. Additionally, I get to write about exciting travel destinations, which is always fun!

My Favourite Trip

Travelling Across Canada by Train

For my first-ever solo trip, I made sure to go all out. I spent a month navigating across Canada by rail. I started in Vancouver before heading east through the Rocky Mountains on the famous Canadian train. The views were unparalleled, and after a day, I arrived in Edmonton.

After my stay there, I boarded the Canadian again, this time in sleeper class. For the next 3 days, I showered, slept, socialised and ate on board, while travelling across beautiful and remote landscapes. Arriving in Toronto was bittersweet, as I knew this incredible experience was behind me, but I still had so much to see!

After a few days (and a couple of tram rides) in Toronto, I took a Via Rail train to Ottawa and explored the country's capital. Then I went on to Quebec City, which surprised me with its culture and history.

Finally, I caught a train to Montreal, a city I instantly fell in love with. A particular highlight was walking to the top of Mount Royal. On my final day, I ate Poutine at one of Anthony Bourdain's favourite Montreal spots before catching my flight to London.

My Expertise

I always pack in as much as I can when I travel, exploring during the day, checking out the local area, and top attractions, before nightlife in the evening.

I have travelled across the vast majority of Australia, from urban getaways in Melbourne, and skiing in the Victorian Alps, to scenic drives through the rainforest, and camping trips in the bush, I've loved it all. I've also had the pleasure of seeing New Zealand a few times, with the obligatory bungee jump in Queenstown! I've always loved travelling in Asia, with Japan an absolute standout. Overall I've been to 19 countries, across 4 continents.
