We are committed to donating 1% of our turnover to sustainability projects.
At Far and Wild Travel, we’re proud to be a 1% for the Planet partner, contributing a portion of our revenue each year to support high-impact environmental and social initiatives.
We work with charities that align with our sustainability framework, focusing on projects that protect natural habitats, promote responsible tourism, and empower local communities. Each partnership is chosen with care to ensure our contributions drive meaningful, measurable change in the regions where we operate.
Our goal is to continually expand our impact by supporting a diverse range of organisations whose work reflects our belief that protecting the planet and uplifting people are inseparable parts of sustainable travel.
There are two ways in which we support our charity partners (more below). We are able to support a limited number of charities with direct financial contributions as part of our Conservation & Community Fund, and then we are able to cast our net wider and support more charities through our Community Connections project which puts our travellers in touch with local projects allowing a direct relationship to develop and for us to promote the work of more incredible charities in all of our favourite destinations.
Through these partnerships, we seek to make a tangible, lasting impact—empowering communities, conserving ecosystems, and ensuring a better future for both people and the planet.

For me, this is the most important part of what we do. It’s not a side project - it’s at the very heart of who we are. These partnerships change lives, protect fragile ecosystems, and remind us how travel can be a powerful force for good.
Last year, our support to Play it Forward helped increase reading proficiency from 33% to an amazing 87% and a recent client visit to Amantani led to free Microsoft licences being donated to the organisation, showing the incredible power of connecting our travellers with the charities we support.
Seeing outcomes like this drives us to do more, to reach further, and to keep building a business that creates meaningful, lasting change.

Conservation & Community Fund
At Far and Wild Travel, we are dedicated to giving back to the places our travellers cherish. Each year, we provide financial support to conservation and community initiatives that reflect our commitment to sustainability, environmental protection, and responsible travel. Charities can apply for funding by detailing the financial support required, the specific project it will impact, and the number of people or ecosystems that will benefit. Priority will be given to projects that create a lasting positive impact by supporting both environmental conservation and community development, recognising that healthy communities and ecosystems are deeply interconnected.
Community Connections
At Far and Wild Travel, we believe in fostering meaningful connections between our travellers and the communities they visit. Through our Community Connections initiative, we introduce travellers to local charities providing opportunities for them to engage with and contribute to impactful projects. Whether it’s supporting environmental conservation or visiting a wildlife protection project, we offer unique experiences that allow our travellers to make a tangible difference. By supporting both the environment and the communities within it, we aim to create a sustainable future where people and nature thrive together.

What Is The Criteria For Charity Partners?
At Far and Wild Travel, we are committed to supporting charities that align with our values of sustainability, environmental conservation, and community empowerment. To ensure our charity partnerships are impactful, we ask that our partners meet the following criteria:
- Environmental commitment – Sustainability is at the heart of our mission. We seek charity partners with a strong commitment to environmental conservation and responsible practices.
- Location in our destinations – We prioritise charities located in, or supporting projects in, the destinations we sell holidays to. This allows our clients to engage directly with the communities they support.
- Client engagement – Charities must be open to visits from our clients. Engagement through site visits or participation in projects strengthens relationships and encourages further support.
- Transparency and reporting – We require regular updates on how funds are used, including quarterly reports with updates and photos, to ensure transparency and demonstrate the direct impact of our contributions.
- UK or US Presence – Charities based in the UK or US are preferred, as this allows us to invite clients to events and create stronger connections with the cause.

Applications are reviewed annually in Q2. Successful applicants will be contacted.
