Bringing our story to life

Meet Mark

Travel has always been more than a change of scenery for me. It’s how I recharge and stay curious about life. From a road trip around Costa Rica where exotic wildlife and dynamic landscapes put life into perspective, to exploring the energy and diversity of Toronto’s nightlife, I love seeing how different places shape the way people live and connect.

I’ve been lucky enough to travel to so many incredible destinations and see animals up close that I could only dream of when I was younger, including a family of brown bears in Western Canada, the Big Five on safari in South Africa and one of my favourite animals, the Capybara, in Argentina.

Costa Rica marked a personal milestone as my first solo holiday. As someone who used to just pack a suitcase and fly to a destination without thought, navigating new places without a partner or friend with me taking control of the day’s plans, pushed me out of my comfort zone and showed me how empowering travel can be. Although moments such as getting swept away by a strong tide or floating too far down a river and coming too close to a steep waterfall can be slightly more embarrassing when surrounded by total strangers…

Of course, balance matters and my slower moments on the beaches of Antigua, the Maldives and luxury retreats in Malaysia and Borneo provide me the perfect contrast; lazy mornings barefoot on pristine white sands, swimming in turquoise waters and gentle hikes exploring islands renew my energy, and are just as important as the adventure holidays to broaden my perspective and reinforce why exploring the world never gets old.

My Favourite Trip

Learning the Gaucho Way in Argentina

My first time in Argentina, I stayed in my usual luxury hotels and lodges, but it was a stay on a working family estancia that grabbed my soul, and was definitely my most hands-on travel experience! Jumping on a horse for the first time in my life (turns out I’m a natural!) and helping gauchos herd cattle was a far cry from my usual routine and an unforgettable way for a city boy like me to understand rural life, strong traditions, and the reward of hard work. It was an experience that stayed with me long after the dust settled, so much so that I returned 2 years later to do it all again, and for a longer period.
