Many years ago, I was flicking through a travel brochure and spotted a photo of Machu Picchu. I had no idea where it was or how to get there and so the adventure began planning my first round-the-world trip. Since then, I have now ticked off 60 countries and all seven continents.
After trekking the famous Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, I vowed to never do a multi-day trek again, especially not at high altitudes.... until I decided to live in Cusco! This provided a unique opportunity to continue working in the industry I love for local operators and explore more of the region.

I followed ancient stone paths through cloud forests and mountain passes, watching mist lift to reveal the sacred citadel of Machu Picchu. It was a moment of quiet awe, standing where history and horizon meet.
