Afria Specialist Yvonne At Ulusaba Makwela Staying In Suite 2

Africa Specialist

I'm an Africa Specialist who just loves Africa. I've been going on holiday to all parts of Africa for the last 20 years. The one country I can't live without is South Africa, although I'm trying my hardest to diversify and visit other parts of Africa more often!

I've been arranging holidays for nearly 30 years now, anything from luxury honeymoon breaks, to straightforward safaris. Therefore you'll be in good hands if you let me help you book your getaway. We can look at the ultimate luxury lodges, city hotels and beach resorts or go simple with something different like tented camps and boutique guesthouses.

I have first-hand experience of travelling on both Rovos Rail and The Blue Train and can highly recommend both, twinned with some fantastic lodges I am sure I can make your dream come true as well.

My Expertise - South Africa - Any bit of it, I've done it all! Kenya my most recent trips have been to Kenya somewhere I love.

We had a fabulous time and everything went very smoothly.

- Nikki, Kenya Safari

Superb safari with great Cape Town Hotel at end

- Jim, South Africa safari & Cape Town stay

A truly memorable way to celebrate a family birthday

- Alexander & Family, South Africa birthday celebration

Difficult as there have been so many.

Elephant Picnic - celebrating Ross’s 60th Birthday at Ulusaba with a picnic down by a river when we were joined by a herd of more than 10 elephants.

Wild Dog day – Spending nearly 4 hours following a pack of wild dogs while staying at Londolozi.

Helicopter and wine – visiting 3 vineyards for wine tasting and lunch travelling by helicopter in the Hunter Valley, Australia.

Most recently I was in Kenya. I had a wonderful time exploring lodges I'd not been to before including Saruni Samburu, Saruni Rhino, in the Samburu. Loldia House on Lake Naivasha. Finally I ventured to the Masai Mara to stay at Governors Il Moran, Serian Original Mara, and Serian Nkorombo Mara. All absolutely stunning.

Prior to Kenya I visited South Africa, and ventured to Sabi Sands, and Timbavati. Whilst managing to fit in a quick trip to the Maldives.

Savanna Private Game Reserve – after 6 stays we are now part of the family and love our game drives here as Leopards are a favourite.

Saruni Rhino Samburu – Totally unique, set on a dry riverbed with only 3 ‘Banda’s, very relaxing watching elephants and wildlife come to the waterhole and tracking Rhino on foot in the Sera Rhino sanctuary.

Serian Nkorombo Fabulous setting right on the Mara River, old fashioned yet comfortable tents with your own private vehicle with driver & guide.

  • If taking Malaria medication make sure you drink plenty of (non alcoholic) refreshments to help avoid any side effects.
  • Everyone loves a good photo especially on safari but don’t forget to sometimes put the camera down and simply enjoy the viewing.
  • Use packing cubes as it makes finding things much easier and is so much quicker if you are moving properties.
