Verney's Camp

Located in a private concession in the world-famous Hwange National Park, Verney’s camp is a beautiful and classic safari camp. This particular part of Hwange has been widely unused, meaning that the surrounding wilderness is untouched. The camp is built beside a waterhole and is surrounded by teak forests, both of which attract an abundance of wildlife to the area. The camp is accessed by either a 3.5 hour drive from Victoria Falls or a 40 min flight to Manga airstrip, followed by a 45 minute road transfer.

Accommodation consists of eight double or twin bed tents and two family tents, all with en-suite bathrooms. Each room is meticulously placed to provide guests with privacy and increase the sense of tranquility while shade is provided by the teak trees. Natural paths connect each guest tent with the camp’s main areas. No matter which room you are in, you'll enjoy fabulous views over the waterhole, where herds of elephants regularly come to drink. Main areas include separate lounge and dining tents, and a swimming pool.

Activities include game drives in the mornings and afternoons. The surrounding area is home to a diverse range of animals, including the Big Five, which provides ample opportunity for some amazing wildlife viewing. The afternoon game drive often doen't finish until after dark, which provides guests with the chance to see some of Hwange’s nocturnal species. Alternatively, you can go on a bushwalk with an experienced guide, an excellent opportunity to get up close to some of Africa’s large mammals, as well as some of the small creatures such as insects.
