We're building our team

We like to think about careers not jobs. To us, a job just sounds like a means to an end... something you do for a finite period of time and then move on. A career is about your journey through working life. And as no journey makes sense without knowing where you're going, our focus is to understand your career goals and be proactive about creating the best environment possible to achieve them.

Experience at the helm

Our Managing Director Alistair Walls has worked in travel for 20 years. He grew up in a mishmash of Europe, South America and the UK, completed a BSc in Tourism and Geography from Oxford Brooks and spent two years guiding tours overland from Nairobi to Cape Town. In 2005 he returned to the UK to work for a leading brand in the luxury holiday space where he specialised in East and Southern Africa, which remains his passion today.

His mission now is to make Far and Wild 'the leading travel company in the world'. Along the way building a tight community bringing customers, travel suppliers, and our team together, with a strong focus on sustainability, conservation and ensuring every trip we create has a positive impact.

Where we're based

In Cumbria's beautiful Lake District

We work from a converted farm building at Edenhall Estate near Penrith. Less than a minutes walk from the front door will give you views in the grid below... and in five minutes you could be: picnicking on the banks of the River Eden, in the pub, or sharing a glass of wine in the beautiful countryside around the estate.

Lake District

EXCEPTIONAL... doing justice to our responsibility of organizing an exceptional holiday - one that exceeds expectations - is what animates every part of our business. It's an exceptionally hard thing to achieve, and it requires an exceptionally dedicated and talented team.

- Ben Morison, Company Founder
