People & Communities

Fostering travel with purpose.

By taking a holistic approach to travel we hope to create meaningful connections with people and communities in the places we visit. Our mission is to demonstrate that tourism can and should be a force for good in the world.

We believe in using travel as a force for good. That's why we donate $50 per traveller to one of our partner charities - The Leo Project in Kenya, Amantani in Peru, or Play It Forward in Zambia. Our goal is to donate approximately $75,000 by 2028 to support vulnerable youth through educational and empowerment programs.

The Leo Project partners with primary schools in Kenya to provide literacy training, computer skills education, and other critical services to underprivileged students. So far, they have reached over 2,000 initial beneficiaries.

Amantani is dedicated to supporting indigenous Quechua children in the Peruvian Andes by providing access to education and preserving their cultural heritage. Through community-led initiatives, Amantani empowers young people and strengthens local communities.

Similarly, Play It Forward uses sport and play to advance health and education opportunities for young people in Southern Zambia. Their "sport for development" model aims to create positive, sustainable social change.

As a company, our long-term vision is to support high-impact local charities like these across all our major destinations. This ensures our donations go directly to uplifting communities in the countries our travellers visit.

Communities

Giving back to local communities is integral to our values. We donate $50 for every person that travels with us to partner charities like Play It Forward, which provides education and health activities for youth in Zambia.

Leo Project

People

Just as travel has the power to transform people, we believe it also harbours the power to empower communities. We support charities like The Leo Project and Amantani to help continue expanding its reach. Student by student, they are working to unlock young people's potential in Kenya and Peru - and we are proud to be part of the journey.

Our Goal

As a company, our long-term vision is to support high-impact local charities across all our major destinations. This ensures our donations go directly to uplifting communities in the countries our travellers visit. We aim to embed this mission of using travel for good throughout our company. Because we believe exploring the world and making it better should go hand-in-hand.

Supporting Diversity

We are committed to providing a welcoming, safe, and inclusive place to work whilst ensuring the same standard for all travel experiences we facilitate. We value diversity and believe travel should be a celebration of our unique differences. To further demonstrate our support for the LGBTQ+ community, we are currently certified by Pride 365 and you can see our pledge on their website. LGBTQ+ travellers are welcome and celebrated here. Our team is dedicated to delivering outstanding service free of discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity. Please feel free to provide any feedback on how we can better demonstrate our commitment to celebrating diversity in all its forms.

Ride4 Rangers

Team Players

Our company is fortunate to have many team players who want to make a positive impact in our local community and beyond. From running the iconic Lewa Marathon in Kenya to raise money for the conservation organization TUSK to supporting Great Ormond Street Hospital, Great North Run and Carer Support Carlisle and Eden. We have a close connection to the FlipFlopi Project as our founder Ben Morison was involved in creating FlipFlopi and is now on the Board of Trustees. In addition, some staff joined the Ride for Rangers event to support wildlife conservation during lockdown. We always seek ways to support our communities locally and act where we believe we can make a difference.

Our Difference

The Far & Wild Community...

We think that the best people to talk about an experience are those directly linked to it. Our website and brochures let the ‘real experts’ show their stuff… local experts, travellers & industry insiders. Look out for the coloured markers all around the site... they mean that you are reading something contributed directly by a person from one of these different parts of the community we are part of.

The best memories aren’t simply places and hotels, they are made up of experiences and people… so we connect with local communities, and strive for sustainable travel to make your holiday special
