Linkwasha Camp

Situated within a private concession in the south east of Hwange National Park, Linkwasha is a luxurious camp that offers guests an exclusive safari experience. Stunning views of the nearby Ngama Plains can be enjoyed from camp, along with sightings of Hwange’s diverse wildlife coming to drink at the waterhole. Hwange National Park has one of Africa’s highest concentrations of game and the species present include lions, cheetahs, buffalo and elephants along with some of the lesser seen animals including leopard, African wild dog and porcupines. Linkwasha camp can be reached either by light aircraft, or road transfer.

Accommodation consists of seven spacious tents that can be either twin or double beds depending on requirements, as well as two family tents. Each tent has an en-suite bathroom, lounge area and tea and coffee making facilities. Sliding doors made of glass and mesh allow lots of light in and provide guests with excellent views of the surrounding areas. The guest tents are connected to the multi-level main areas by raised platforms. Communal areas include a lounge area, a bar, a dining room and a library. Outside there is also a swimming pool and fire pit.

Activities include game drives in the mornings and afternoons. The latter don't return to the camp until after dark, where nocturnal species such as bush babies and pangolins may be seen. Guided safari walks are also available, where guests have the opportunity to encounter animals such as lion, spotted hyena and elephants up close. Back at camp, a resident ecologist gives regular talks about wildlife and conservation. In terms of cultural activities, guests can go on a trip to a local village to learn about the local community and their way of life. Linkwasha also has a sleep-out deck, where guests can sleep under the African sky.
