One of the quietest parts of Etosha
Excellent game viewing, few other visitors and several excellent lodges make a tailor made Eastern Etosha safari a great choice
The Eastern part of Etosha is one of the quietest areas of the park, where visitors are few and game viewing is excellent, amid typical Etosha landscapes of stark, white plains interspersed with patches of grassland.
If you're considering a luxury Eastern Etosha safari there are a number of excellent lodges in the area, both within the park itself and in the private concessions of Mushara and Onguma on the very Eastern border. A night or two spent in this part of the park provides a lovely contrast to the busier Southern Etosha, with the journey between the two very much an adventure in itself, taking visitors right through the park on the edge of the Etosha Pan with the chance to stop at Hatari Camp for lunch along the way. It is also a great stopping point for anyone heading up towards the Caprivi Strip as it’s just a short diversion off the road towards Rundu to spend a night or two in the park. The contrast of desert-style wildlife viewing in Etosha with a more traditional game viewing experience in the Caprivi Strip is very popular with visitors.
