Found in a private concession in the remote Northern sector of Hwange, Nehimba is a charming lodge, ideal for those looking to get away from it all and enjoy time in the bush as it is meant to be enjoyed – unhurried and away from the crowds.
Each of the 9 rooms at Nehimba are beautifully-appointed with views out to the waterhole and are only a short walk from the central main area, making this an appealing prospect for families. Thatched rooves help to keep them cool in the heat of the day and inside they are spacious and comfortable, with various bedding configurations available. The en-suite bathrooms boast both indoor and outdoor showers and come with all the amenities that one could wish for. The communal area of the lodge is an open-plan lounge, dining room and bar area where guests can relax in between activities and enjoy the superb cuisine for which the lodge is renowned. A sparkling swimming pool sits in front of the main area and provides a wonderful view out to the adjacent waterhole which attracts wildlife throughout the day.
Game drives are the main activity on offer from Nehimba, with both day and night drives offered through the concession. Guided walks are also very popular and offer the chance to concentrate on spotting the smaller things, often missed when on game drives.
