Lake Manyara Night Drive

Lake Manyara Safaris

The perfect safari holiday in Lake Manyara

With breathtakingly landscape Lake Manyara National Park offers great variety with numerous ecosystems and is dominated by a large alkaline lake that attracts colorful flamingos

Situated on the way from Arusha to the Ngorongoro Crater, stretched along the base of the Rift Valley Escarpment, Lake Manyara National Park is renowned for its huge elephant population and tree climbing lions.

Considered by many to be the most picturesque of the Northern Circuit safari national parks, a Lake Manyara tour offers stunning views of the flamingo-filled lake and Rift Valley escarpment, which will be of particular appeal to photographers. Bird-watchers will also find this park rewarding with nearly 400 species present.

Manyara's official peak season is from July to October. However for such a small park this should not be a deciding factor. If you are in the area and have time, Lake Manyara is consistently good as a soft game-viewing park at any time of the year.

Lake Manyara's game includes good numbers of elephant, buffalo and wildebeest along with plenty of giraffe. Also prolific in number are zebra, waterbuck, warthog and impala. The broken forests and escarpment make it good country for leopard, and it's the best place to see tree climbing lions, which you may spot if you’re lucky!
