The perfect tailor made Ruaha safari holiday
Ruaha is still largely undiscovered, a secret gem to be jealously guarded by the few who know and appreciate the joys of isolation in an unspoiled paradise
Lying in the remote centre of Tanzania, Ruaha National Park is one of the country’s outstanding wilderness areas, a secret gem containing a fascinating variety of landscapes and prolific wildlife. The park has an arid climate and takes its name from the Great Ruaha River which creates spectacular gorges as it flows along the eastern border.
Being somewhat isolated and relatively inaccessible, Ruaha receives very few visitors in comparison to other parks and reserves, particularly in the north. This means that even in the busier high season between July and October, you’ll have the place pretty much to yourself, making your safari experience more enjoyable and exclusive.
Ruaha has a diverse and beautiful landscape with open plains punctuated by rolling hills and rocky escarpments. It boasts impressive big cat populations, large numbers of elephants and packs of rare wild dogs can often be seen. If you’re a birder then Ruaha is a great destination for you with over 500 species having been recorded.
There are several luxury Ruaha lodges to choose from, just ask us to help you decide, we know all the best spots.
