Naara Eco Lodge

Naara Eco Lodge is located on the banks of Nhambavale Lake and is only accessible by four-wheel drive, which heightens the sense of being deep in African tranquillity. It is 9.3 miles from Chidenguele, a village with a notably stunning beach along the lagoon. The lodge has been designed and built by the owners Leila Oliveira and Pablo Renk, aiming to highlight the natural environment by using locally sourced materials, thus limiting its carbon footprint. Further reducing its impact on the environment, Naara Eco Lodge uses the strength of the hot African sun to power all lights and small appliances and heat the water. Therefore, you can feel guilt free as you relax in the outdoor jacuzzi spa.

The accommodation consists of 10 air-conditioned, luxury safari tents. Opening the large, double-doors onto your private balcony you are greeted with the still and calming waters of Nhambavale Lake stretching out before you. Each tent has a large bedroom area, which is decorated in a simple and rustic style emphasising its natural textures. The bathroom facilities are no means dull, each tent has its own outdoor shower in a private garden area as well as a more traditional indoor en-suite. With the local community in mind, Naara Eco lodge aims to use local produce where possible in its restaurant. Experience a meal beside the lake on the pier or even in the privacy of your own balcony.

On your stay in this remote eco lodge become one with nature, explore the lake in a canoe or perhaps see the fish up close and personal whilst snorkelling. Owner Pablo is enthusiastic in sharing his passion for the area and can take you on a spear fishing adventure.
