Walks here can be done as day trips from Nuwara Eliya and nearby hotels such as Warwick Gardens.
Horton Plains is protected as a UNESCO World Heritage site, and as with everywhere in Sri Lanka there is plenty of wildlife to keep you company on your wanders. Make sure you keep an eye out for herds of sambar deer.
