Maia Luxury Resort and Spa is wonderfully situated, overlooking the beautiful bay of Anse Lois.
Location
Perched on the southwest coast of Mahé in the Seychelles, MAIA Luxury Resort & Spa is set across 30 acres of fragrant tropical gardens above a granite headland at Anse Louis beach. The villas are beautifully discreet, many with views sweeping across the Indian Ocean. It’s about 30 minutes’ drive from the airport, giving you peace, privacy, and those dramatic Seychelles sunsets you see in postcards.
Rooms
There are 30 villas in total. Some lie directly by the beach, others are tucked up into the hillside for panoramic views. All are crafted in a Balinese-inspired style, with teak, stone, thatched roofs, outdoor sunken bathtubs, private infinity pools, generous terraces, and plenty of space to breathe. Butler service is standard, meaning many guests simply never need to leave their villa unless they want to.
Amenities
At MAIA you’ll find an open-air Balinese-style spa with pavilions set into forested granite, plus all the usual indulgences: wellness treatments, yoga and Qi Gong sessions, a fitness centre, and a main pool with ocean views. Dining is beautifully flexible: Tec-Tec restaurant is gourmet with Mediterranean, Asian and Creole accents; you can also dine on your terrace, by the pool, or in private. Wine lovers will delight in the boutique wine collection.
Activities
Guests love non-motorised water sports (snorkelling, kayaking, paddle-boarding), exploring the reef, yoga or meditation sessions, and simply strolling on the white sand beach. For families, there’s a “Very Important Kids” programme, supervised beach games, and escapades around Mahé. Excursions to island attractions, nature walks, or boat trips also feature. And because of the butler service, you can choose your pace entirely.
Sustainability
We love that MAIA is deeply committed to doing things responsibly. It holds the Seychelles Sustainable Tourism Label; it works with WiseOceans on a Marine Discovery Programme (coral reef restoration, guided snorkels, education) so guests can engage with and support marine conservation. It also runs its own water-bottling facility (cutting plastic waste), recycles and composts kitchen waste, and sources produce locally.
