One of our favourite ways to ease into the rhythm of Dumaguete is with a walk along the city’s famous waterfront boulevard. Shaded by century-old acacia trees and lined with cafés and food stalls, it’s the ideal spot for a late-afternoon stroll, a bite of something local, and a front-row seat to the sun setting over the Bohol Sea. You’ll love the relaxed atmosphere—this is a city that invites you to slow down and savour the moment.

If you’re into marine life, adventure, or just jaw-dropping scenery, you’re in for a treat. Just a short boat ride away, Apo Island is a world-renowned marine sanctuary where you can snorkel or dive among pristine coral reefs and sea turtles. We think it’s one of the best underwater experiences the Philippines has to offer. And back on land, there’s no shortage of adventure either—expect volcanic peaks, jungle trails, and waterfalls that feel like something out of a storybook.

Dumaguete is also a city with real heart and intellect. It’s home to Silliman University, one of the country’s oldest and most respected academic institutions. Its presence brings a youthful, creative energy to the city—you’ll find art, music, and thoughtful conversation around every corner. Between the lively markets, traditional eateries, and growing scene of contemporary cafés and restaurants, there’s a lot here to discover.
