Longtail boats bob lazily along the bay, creating a scene straight out of a Pinterest board!

For those looking to simply relax, Railay Beach does not disappoint. The clear waters and the soft sea breeze create the perfect environment to unwind. Whether you're lounging under the shade of a palm tree with a book in hand or enjoying a quiet swim, the soothing atmosphere allows for a perfect getaway. The beauty of the beach and the soothing sound of the waves make it easy to lose track of time and immerse yourself in nature. Railay beach is also home to the Diamond Caves, if you are seeking an adventure-filled activity whilst in Krabi, then this is the spot for it.

Railay beach is one of my personal favourite beaches in Thailand, as you are only able to access it by boat, stepping off onto the beach made it really feel like a day trip from the bustling centre of Krabi.

As soon as you get off the boat, you will realise that it is not just a beach – there are beautiful independent shops lining the area. This is where I made sure to pick up a souvenir necklace for my mum! After spending the best part of the morning relaxing on the beach and having a swim, I ventured into the Diamond cave, which was a nice break from being out in the hot sun! The caves were insane and such a fun activity to have on a Krabi itinerary.

This is the perfect place for socialising with others, joining in with the many football games being played, or soaking in the atmosphere.

In response to the environmental impact caused by mass tourism, the Thai government has implemented several preservation efforts to protect the fragile ecosystem of the bay. These efforts include periodic closures to allow the environment time to recover and limit the number of visitors each day. The restricted access ensures that Maya Bay remains untouched by over-tourism while providing a sustainable experience for those fortunate enough to visit.
