Ngorongoro Crater Lodge

Influenced by traditional mud and stick homesteads, the Ngorongoro Crater Lodge is one of the most architecturally spectacular safari lodges in all of Africa. Made up of three separate camps: North and South Camp, both with twelve suites each and Tree Camp has 6 suites. Each camp has a sitting room, dining room and viewing decks.

All the suites have breath-taking views of the crater from a private deck and each has a fireplace, en-suite bathroom and exclusive butler service. The communal areas and the suites, which are built on stilts, are adorned with graceful antiques, grand chandeliers and African treasures in an audacious fusion of modern European and ancient African styles. The domed dining rooms, each with a fireplace, crystal, silver and massive wooden platters, make every meal a special occasion. There is also outdoor dining deck for warmer evenings.

Safari activities centre on visits to the crater floor. It takes about half a day to fully explore the different areas of the Ngorongoro Crater, and there are two areas where visitors can stop for a picnic lunch or mid-afternoon drink. Other options include guided walks along the crater rim, and visits to local Masai communities living nearby.
