Tucked away down a quiet lane just off the main street running through Franschhoek, The Last Word Franschhoek is a superb choice for anyone wanting to enjoy the wonderful ambience of the village but avoid staying in a larger hotel.
With just 10 beautifully designed rooms, including 2 which share a swimming pool, the property is small enough to retain a boutique feel, but its enduring popularity means it is always busy and has a great buzz about it. The rooms are classically designed, with plenty of space, comfortable couches and well-appointed en-suite bathrooms. The public areas of the hotel are equally lovely, with a sprawling deck where guests can relax and soak up the sunshine and stunning views to the surrounding mountains. The residents bar is always popular, especially as all drinks are included in the cost of a stay, with some lovely locally-produced wines always ready to be enjoyed. Meals in the property are by prior arrangements, but the many superb restaurants of Franschhoek are just a short, safe stroll away.
