Grand Dedale

Nestled away on the beautiful Doolhof Wine Estate, at the end of a winding dirt road outside of the small winelands farming town of Wellington, Grand Dedale is a true gem of a property, often overlooked in favour of those in the more fashionable Stellenbosch and Franschhoek.

With just 6 bedrooms in the main house, as well as a spacious cottage tucked away, this is a wonderfully small property which retains the character and heritage of the original Cape Dutch Farmhouse that it once was. The bedrooms have a very elegant feel to them, with their own design, antique furniture and stunning views to the surrounding mountains and wine estate. The front of the main house has a covered veranda running its full length and is a great spot to relax in one of the comfortable wicker chairs and enjoy a glass of the estate’s finest wines. To one side of the property there is a secluded swimming pool and sun deck where drinks can be served. Owing to the relatively remote location, town is a 10 minute drive away, they offer light meals throughout the day and a delicious 4-course dinner.

A stay at Grand Dedale is the perfect way to spend a few days in the winelands if you are looking to get away from the busier areas, especially between November and March when the area becomes very busy. This is a truly beautiful property and well-worth a couple of nights’ stay.
