The forest is also home to many animal species such as the famous Sifaka lemur, the bird of paradise, chameleon and Cuvier’s oplure (a type of iguana). The luxury Anjajavy lodge has signposted trails through the reserve, coastline and fishing villages that you can follow alone or with a guide to get a fantastic understanding of your surroundings.

Sea life here is superb and some of the best on the island. Go snorkelling along the coral reef, or take out a canoe and explore the mangroves on an Anjajavy holiday. Don’t forget to keep an eye out for the Madagascan fish eagle. Other included activities include catamaran trips, wind-surfing, mountain biking, badminton, volley ball, and French bowls. Anjajavy has 25 luxury rosewood villas, each with a large verandah with armchairs and hammock facing the sea, a living room area, breakfast area and a bedroom. A small staircase provides access to the first floor which features a relaxation room that can be used as an office or children’s/guest room.
