Pristine beaches meet tropical forests

Stunning beaches, remote islands and a warm sea teeming with fish and whales, Madagascar has much more to offer beyond the lemurs it is famous for.

Madagascar is known for its stunning beaches and coastline, with many great places to stay ranging from the less expensive to the very expensive.

Nosy Be

This is a popular tourist destination in Madagascar and is known for its beautiful beaches and clear waters. There are plenty of hotels and resorts to choose from, ranging from luxury to budget-friendly.

If you want small and intimate look at the island of Nosy Komba or Nosy Sakatia; Vanila Hotel & Spa and L'Heure Bleue: Both are laid-back, relaxed atmospheres and are surrounded by lush tropical gardens.

More upmarket Miavana is an expensive luxury eco-resort located on the island of Nosy Ankao, which is part of the Nosy Be archipelago in northern Madagascar. The resort is situated on a pristine white-sand beach and surrounded by lush tropical forests. The resort offers 14 spacious villas, each with a private pool and stunning ocean views. Miavana offers a range of activities such as snorkelling, scuba diving, kayaking, and guided nature walks. Ifaty

This is a small fishing village located in the south of Madagascar. It is known for its coral reef and is a great place for snorkelling and diving. There are a few hotels and guesthouses in the area. Our go-to would be Les Dunes d'Ifaty: This is a 4-star hotel located on the beach in Ifaty. It has a swimming pool, and on-site restaurant, and offers activities such as snorkelling and scuba diving.

Anakao

This is another small fishing village located in the south of Madagascar. It is a bit more remote than Ifaty and has fewer tourists. It is known for its pristine beaches and is a great place to relax. Anakao Ocean Lodge is a beachfront hotel located in Anakao. It has a swimming pool, on-site restaurant, and offers activities such as snorkelling and fishing.

Ile Sainte Marie

This is a small island off the east coast of Madagascar. It is known for its beautiful beaches and is a great place to spot whales during certain times of the year. There are a few hotels and guesthouses on the island but the one you ideally want is Princesse Bora Lodge & Spa. This is a luxurious hotel located on the east coast of Sainte Marie. It has beautiful views of the ocean and offers a range of amenities such as a spa, swimming pool, and on-site restaurant.

Anjajavy

Anjajavy is a luxury eco-resort located on a remote peninsula on the northwest coast of Madagascar. The resort is situated within a 450-hectare nature reserve and is surrounded by pristine beaches, tropical forests, and mangrove swamps. Anjajavy offers a range of activities such as snorkelling, scuba diving, kayaking, and guided nature walks. Guests can also enjoy spa treatments, yoga classes, and sunset cruises.
