There is plenty to do if you fancy something more than chilling on the beach. You can snorkel or dive the offshore coral reef, take a traditional dhow trip, kitesurf or paddleboard along the coast, or head inland to explore sacred forests and nearby villages. Day trips to nearby marine reserves of wildlife sanctuaries like Shimba Hills are easy to arrange too.

When it comes to food and drink, Diani punches well above its weight. You will find everything from beachside seafood grills and wood fires pizza joints to refined restaurants offering East African fusion cuisine. There is a small bust sociable bar scene too, with sundowners, live music, and oceanfront cocktails all on offer.

Getting here is easy. Diani is served by Ukunda Airport, which receives daily flights from Nairobi and several safari airstrips. The airport is just a 10-15 minute drive from most beach properties, so you can be by the pool or barefoot on the sand soon after you land.
