Kanana Camp

Kanana Camp was completely refurbished in 2019 and boasts being one of the most popular camps in Botswana. Situated in the southwest of the Okavango Delta, on the Xudum River. The area comprises a string of islands which are home to a wide range of animals and plants. Annual floods transform the location into a water paradise – a thrilling experience for guests who, on occasion, may be able to witness the water rising around the camp’s raised decks. A spectacular sight to behold. The beautiful habitat means that guests have the opportunity to embark on both land- and water-based activities.

The accommodation consists of eight spacious tents one of which is a 2 bedroom family unit. the tents are raised on decks, with the option of double or twin beds. Each safari tent has hot and cold running water and en-suite bathrooms with showers. The camps main areas are also on raised decks, built around an old fig tree in circular style, with a dining room, living area and a viewing deck that overlooks the surrounding waterways. A swimming pool is also available for guests to use.

Activities include exploring the amazing waterways by motorboat or by glass-bottomed mokoro (traditional canoe). You can also go on game drives in the mornings and afternoons or embark on bush walks and experience the surrounding areas by foot. Kanana has a wide variety of birds who call the area home, and one of the camps highlights is a trip to a nearby heronry, to which Kanana has exclusive access.
