Beach and bush

Combine two different destinations to create the perfect safari and beach holiday.... the best of both worlds!

Begin your holiday with an exhilarating safari experience taking in the sights and sounds of the African bush. Spot incredible wildlife from the Big Five to cheetah chases or the great migration, a safari is sure to give you memories that will last a lifetime. Next up, it’s time to relax on Africa’s incredible coastline, picture-perfect white sand beaches framed with palm trees and crystal clear seas teeming with fish.

Where you go is entirely up to you. Kenya and Tanzania pair well with the Kenyan coast or Zanzibar, but it is equally possible to fly further afield to the exotic islands of Mauritius or the Seychelles. The Kruger in South Africa teams well with either the beaches along the garden route or with the tropical islands off Mozambique, which also work well with Botswana. Malawi is home to Lake Malawi which provides an alternative beach option, or if you fancy a different type of safari why not try Madagascar?

At Far and Wild, we create each and every safari and beach trip from scratch so we can tailor your holiday to exactly what it is that you are hoping to do. You might be planning a classic 4x4 safari experience or you might want to get deeper into the African bush and go rhino tracking, you could glide down the Okavango Delta in a mokoro (or float over the Mara in a hot air balloon), feed giraffes breakfast at Giraffe Manor, or perhaps watch the great wildebeest migration, your heart in your mouth as the first wildebeest leaps into the crocodile-infested Mara river in the hunt for greener pastures. Fancy something a little different? You could go gorilla trekking in Rwanda or spy lemurs in Madagascar. The possibilities are endless.

You might also be surprised by what a variety of beach options there are too. Stay in an underwater room on Pemba Island watching the fish from your bed, go Robinson Crusoe on the remote private Fanjove Island, try your hand at Kite Surfing on the Kenyan coast, take a sunset cruise in a dhow (a traditional African fishing boat), try your luck fishing, take a whale and dolphin watching safari or perhaps enjoy a camel ride down the beach. Of course, there are also endless snorkelling and diving opportunities, including with whale sharks which migrate up the Kenyan coast.

From ultra-luxury lodges overlooking the Mara to treehouses in Sabi Sands and remote tented camps in Zambia, small family-run beach boutiques, large family villas or five-star luxury hotels, there is a vast range of accommodation options available and something for everyone.
