A coastline of vastly different topography, with endless possibilities for exploring.

The first stop for visitors who venture North of Muscat is the Musandam Peninsula, jutting into the Strait of Mormuz. A remote area separated from the rest of the country by a corner of the UAE, it's best reached by plane, although you can also take a scenic ferry ride through the Persian Gulf. With sandy beaches and craggy yellow-blackish outcrops, you could be forgiven for thinking you're in another world altogether. Recently Musandam has become fashionable, thanks to its dramatically attractive shores, warm dolphin rich seas and relaxed vibe.

If you want to venture to Norwegian-like landscapes, the fjords of Khasab offer spectacular cliffs towering over seascapes, magnificently reflecting into the water below. The peninsula has an abundance of sheltered fjords to discover, some only connected to mainland Oman by cliffs. Whilst the fjords are a great draw of the region, Khasab also offers the best dolphin watching opportunities and boasts a small 17th century Portuguese fort so there is plenty to do in this remote area of Oman.

Fujairah is the home of water sports. Thanks to its ever expanding tourist attractions, the city of Fujairah surrounded by mountains and situated on the water front has become famous for its water activities. From jet skies gliding along the water, to more sedate boat sailing and higher octane windsurfing, diving and parasailing it truly is a haven for water lovers.
