Taylors Hill

Considered by many as the perfect location for a friends or family getaway, Taylors Hill was named after James Taylor who introduced commercial tea production in Ceylon at the neighbouring Loolecondera Estate. This property sits on a couple of acres and looks like somewhere straight out of England. With pretty lawns to play croquet, a tennis court, an infinity pool, snooker room, walking, biking and bird trails, you'll certainly be well occupied when staying here.

All the rooms at the house are designed with a mix of antique and contemporary furniture, with en-suite bathrooms to make your stay comfortable. All rooms are decorated individually with custom wall paper to replicate country house décor in England.

Dining at Taylors Hill is inspired by the mix of culture and history in the surrounding region. The food served is a blend of Sri Lankan cuisine, British comfort food and Asian inspired dishes. Most of which are made from local ingredients sourced from the hill country. One thing you can't miss while staying here is the afternoon tea offered with freshly baked cakes and cookies. The staff are happy to arrange a picnic basket for you travels nearby as well.

Taylors Hill makes an ideal base to explore the sites around Kandy, which include the Temple of the Tooth, the Botanical Gardens and the Ceylon Tea Museum. You can even visit the house where James Taylor lived and indulge in long walks around the tea gardens making it a relaxing and enjoyable place for a holiday.
