wildlife viewing second-to-none
You won’t get much closer to nature than at Chamilandu
Situated in an ebony grove on the banks of the Luangwa River, Chamilandu is located in the remote, southern part of the South Luangwa National Park. The river and lagoons attract an array of wildlife which Chamilandu has been careful to make the most of. It’s an ideal place to stay to catch some serious wildlife sightings and photography. Part of the Bushcamp Company this camp pairs nicely with Bilimungwe and Chindeni.
With just three chalets, Chamilandu is an initimate bush camp. Each chalet has a raised veranda giving you magnificent views over the landscape. The chalets are all completely open-fronted, giving a closeness to nature you will struggle to find anywhere else. Two of the chalets are twin rooms with two queen-sized beds, and one a double with a king-sized bed, ideal for small groups. The buildings are all made of wood and thatch and have been tastefully and fully furnished to provide comfort with a rustic appeal. There is a bar and dining area which provides amazing food and a place to sit back and take in the surroundings.
Chamilandu provides walking safaris and game drives to explore the vast habitats around the camp. There is also a hide that overlooks a busy watering hole which guests can use to sit and observe the animals as unobtrusively as possible.
