Kibale Forest Camp

Tented camp in the rainforest

Classic safari experience in canvas tents

Timber framed tents in a great location close to Gorilla tracking trails

Affordable, comfortable accommodation in a lush tropical forest setting is what makes this camp a special find. The forest location, just outside the southern perimeter of the national park, borders Magombe Swamp which Bigodi Wetland is part of. The camp is just ten minutes from Kayanchu, the starting point of chimp tracking excursions.

Its 10 African safari-style tents are on wooden platforms, each with a deck furnished with comfortable chairs. Each of the 10 tents have twin or double beds, private en-suite bathrooms, a dressing room and hot shower. Additionally, seven tents that have access to shared facilities.

Adding to its appeal is an open, wooden, thatched main building with a relaxed bar and restaurant. Birds, butterflies and primates abound in the grounds. Aside from chimp tracking, the camp is ideally located for the chimp habituation programme and for Bigodi wetland walks. Other highlights include the Mahoma Waterfall which can be seen while visiting villages of the Batoro tribe, and a visit to the tea estates.
