Bateleur Safari Camp

Bateleur Safari Camp is located in the Timbavati private nature reserve, adjacent to Kruger park where all artificial barriers have now been removed – this allows the animals to roam freely. There are two options for guests to arrive to camp, one of which is an hour’s flight from Johannesburg to Eastgate airport which is only 20Km from the Timbavati enternce. Alternatively, guests can take a road transfer (using the Kruger shuttle or private transfer), the scenic journey through South Africa’s provinces take approximately 6.5 hours.

The camp has seven stylish suites, three of which are family units that each accommodate up to five people - perfect for families of 2 adults and 3 children. The comfortable tents are fitted with an en-suite bathroom which has a fully flushing toilet, basin and hot water shower. Guests who want to truly immerse them self with nature can try the outdoor shower, water is heated via a boiler fuelled by a wood fire. The newly renovated central area is a huge draw to this camp - the covered, open sided wooden deck that overlooks the riverbed and seasonal waterhole.

The lodge prides its self on serving high quality wholesome South African cooking, dinner is often cooked on an open fire in front of guests. There is also the option for guests to self-cater with a fully equipped kitchen and braai (BBQ) area. The camp runs daily game drives with qualified and experienced trackers, these take place both in morning and afternoon. Each drive is approximately three to four hours each with breaks in between for coffee and sundowners. As well as the game drives the camp optional bush walks with a qualified, armed ranger and an experienced tracker. Bateleur Safari Camp has a communal pool which is perfect to jump into after a day of game viewing.
