Trip Itinerary

Day 1 To Hazyview

Staying at Rissington Inn

Arrive in to Johannesburg early this morning, clear immigration, collect your bags and make your way to the car hire area to collect your rental vehicle. From there you will need to drive East to the fringes of the Kruger National Park where you will be spending the next 3 nights at the charming Rissington Inn. This afternoon will be at leisure to relax after the long journey to get here – the pool at Rissington is a great spot to relax and take in the views. It also boasts one of the best restaurants in the area, so you are well catered-for in that regard.

Days 2 & 3 Roam around the Panorama Route

An undoubted highlight of a visit to this area is the chance to explore a stunning part of South Africa known as the Panorama Route. This circular driving route is home to some of the most alluring scenery that South Africa has to offer, along with some interesting historical sites. Mac Mac Falls, Bourke’s Luck potholes, Blyde River Canyon and God’s Window and the historic gold mining town of Pilgrim's Rest. Equally, there are some great attractions around Hazyview where you are staying, including walking and mountain biking trails, ziplining through the trees, traditional craft markets, horseriding and golf courses – plenty to keep you occupied during your stay.

Day 4 In to the Kruger

Days 5 & 6 Exploring the Kruger National Park

Day 7 To Vilanculos

Days 8 - 11 Relaxing on the beach

Your time in Vilanculos is the chance to sit back, put your feet up by the pool with a good book, cold drink and enjoy the glorious sunshine that this part of the world revels in almost all year round. There is plenty to do here if you are looking to be active, with boat trips, fishing excursions, snorkelling and scuba diving, horseriding and trips out to local islands all on offer. Vilanculos town is also a fun place to explore, with some quirky little beach bars and excellent seafood restaurants, as well as the chance to get an insight in to local life.

May

Possibly one of the best months to travel, with the temperatures hovering around a pleasant 25-28 degrees, it is perfect for both beach lovers and culture vultures. Visiting Ilha de Mozambique and Ibo Island is particularly good during May as the cooler temperatures allow visitors to explore without bounds.
