Enjoy the vibrant culture of Maputo before heading off for a few days’ relaxation at one of its leading beach resorts.

Mozambique boasts a rich and lively culture thanks to its heritage as a Portuguese colony and is a superb spot to immerse yourself in local life as well as spend some time relaxing on the Indian Ocean coast. This trip allows you to explore vibrant Maputo before taking a boat down the coast to an idyllic beachside hideaway.

Start off by flying in to the capital city Maputo where you will be basing yourselves at one of Africa’s grand old hotels. Explore this fascinating city in the company of a guide, learning about its history, the current state of affairs the hopes for Mozambicans for the future. With beautiful architecture, bustling markets and outstanding seafood to enjoy, it is a real hidden gem of a place to spend a couple of days and really allows you to get under the skin of modern Africa. From the capital a boat will whisk you down the coast to Machangulo, a remote beach spot where you can spend a few days indulging yourselves away from the crowds. Relax on the beach, swim in the azure waters of the Mozambique Channel, enjoy a variety of watersports or try your hand at a spot of fishing. You will be wonderfully well looked after during your time here and will head for home refreshed and reinvigorated after a truly indulgent time on the beach.

Mozambique is often overlooked in favour of other African destinations, but it has plenty of merits of its own and remains somewhat undiscovered. This trip allows you to learn more about this fascinating destination and enjoy the very finest of what it has to offer.
