Cannúa Lodge

Nestled in the cloud forest between Medellin and El Peñol

An eco-paradise retreat

Cannúa’s luxurious rooms and cloud-forest cabanas hang suspended over lush valleys in the foothills of the Andes, seamlessly blending into their remote mountain location deep in the Colombian countryside.

Guests can spend their days enjoying vibrant plates of French-Colombian cuisine adorned with edible flowers, spotting tropical birds, and sampling Colombian coffee, chocolate, or rum with local experts. All of this is set against the backdrop of breathtaking valley views.

Each of Cannúa’s 18 rooms and cabanas offers a stunning view of the rolling San Nicolás Valley. Sustainable design features enhance the connection to nature, with exposed earthen bricks, reclaimed woods, and handmade lamps. Standalone cabanas boast wraparound windows for an even more immersive experience.

Cannúa’s restaurant serves dishes that are as visually stunning as they are delicious, decorated with colourful edible flowers and leaves. The menu is sustainability-focused, excluding pork and beef, but offers delightful alternatives like Colombian rabbit-loin stew and the signature slow-cooked chicken confit on arepa purée. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and afternoon snacks like sandwiches and empanadas.

Activities at Cannúa include short hikes and a daily stargazing sunset walk along a pre-Columbian track that starts on the property. For a more challenging adventure, guests can embark on an extended hike, traversing 15 kilometres of mountains, meeting fruit farmers, and encountering native wildlife. This hike includes a traditional Colombian picnic lunch and a refreshing dip beneath a 210-foot waterfall.
