Minneriya National Park, (along with nearby Kaudulla and Hurulu, depending on where elephants are being spotted at the time) makes a great half-day trip whilst you’re exploring Sri Lanka’s Cultural Triangle. If you want to see some wild elephants enjoying life then this is the place to come. Driving around here you will also see peacocks, turtles and countless species of birds and reptiles.
The best time for viewing elephants here is in August and September, although you are still quite likely to spot them any time between June and October.
