Chamba Camp - Diskit

The camp is located in Diskit, a stunning village in the Nubra desert valley, which despite being the area’s commercial hub, has managed to remain beautifully preserved, and untouched by the chaos of the modern world. The camp’s itineraries and period style accommodation give guests a sense of being on an early 19th century explorer's expedition, with the towering Himalayas and sand dunes giving a true wilderness feeling.

The camp comprises eight large luxury tent suites situated on wooden decks with outside seating areas and patios. The tent interiors are all about nomadic-style décor with handpicked furnishings. Each tent contains a poster bed and en-suite bathroom with hot and cold running water, as well as having heating and air conditioning. The large net windows allow wonderful views of the surrounding scenery. The main areas include a reception tent, a shop and a library, as well as a dining tent and bakery, with indoor and outdoor seating. Cuisine here is superb, using recipes passed down through the chef's family as well as international dishes. A complimentary butler service is also available.

Through its wide range of activities, Chamba Camp Diskit offers guests an exciting adventure across this beautiful and historic landscape with a private chauffeur and vehicle. Activities include a trek through Nubra valley, taking in the beautiful scenery, where you may see the people of Hunder Village hard at work, tending to their animals and vegetable patches. Other activities include cultural tours of monasteries and palaces and visits to local hamlets. You can embark on hiking and cycling tours, or take part in sports activities such as archery and water rafting. There are many species of bird present in the area, making it the ideal location for bird watching.
