The Ule Ethnic Resort is situated in the high Himalayan passes of Ladakh – at an altitude of 3000m - on the banks of the river Indus and on the old road connecting Ladakh with the Kashmir Valley. The rugged mountainous terrain is a stunning setting for an overnight stay on your travels through Ladakh.
The property is made up of small simple mountain cottages and canvas huts, interspersed with apple and apricot trees. Much of the food is grown on site and the electricity is produced by the resort’s unique micro hydro-power system - the property follows a model of sustainable tourism addressing the impact of increased tourism in Ladakh.
Despite being a place to experience simplicity, there is internet access here, and because of the long drive to get here there is also a small spa where you can get a massage to soothe those aching bones.
