Serena Lake Kivu Hotel

Just outside the small town of Gisenyi, minutes from the border with the DR Congo and the city of Goma, the Serena Lake Kivu Hotel is a 20-minute flight from Kigali International Airport.

The accommodation comprises 37 Standard Rooms with a queen-sized double bed and an en-suite bathroom, 23 family rooms with a queen-sized double bed or two twin beds and an en-suite. The hotel can arrange for adjoining rooms for the accommodation of families, as well as additional beds, cots and baby-sitting services. Finally, there are six large Suites which have a king-sized, en-suite bathroom, a furnished balcony and a lounge. All the rooms have air-conditioning and wi-fi connectivity. The restaurant serves an extensive buffet breakfast and both buffet and a la carte lunch and dinner menus. There is a swimming pool and the beach on the lake has white sand a palm trees. There is a café and bar on the beach which serves barbecues and sundowners and often hosts live local music and traditional Intore dancers.

Activities include water sports on the lake such as canoeing, jet skiing, fishing and boating. You can also enjoy volleyball on the beach or go for a walk or hike to enjoy the landscape. The hotel is famous for its beach parties: held twice a year during summer holidays (July) and festive period (December), which feature a lakeside buffet, a beach bonfire and live music.
