Heuglin’s Lodge is situated in the leafy residential suburbs of Lilongwe, Malawai’s capital city. In the quiet north side of the city and 30 minutes’ drive to the international airport. This attractive house is an ideal base for a sightseeing tour of the capital city, for relaxing before or after a safari and serves as a comfortable waiting point during transfers. Chauffeured transport can be arranged for trips in and out of town as well as to and from the airport.
The lodge is fully catered and has nine bedrooms, eight of which are en-suite and one with an outside bathroom. The elegant rooms are spacious and tastefully furnished, equipped with en-suite bathroom, satellite television and wi-fi. Heuglin’s Lodge is set within lush gardens, which attract a variety of birds, including Schalow’s turaco and Heuglin’s Robin – from which the lodge takes its name. There is a swimming pool, small wildlife library, and cosy lounge with plenty of comfy sofas and an honesty bar.
Heuglin’s Lodge provides several day trips that explore Malawi’s incredible scenery, culture and history. Witness the fine craftsmanship on display at Dedza pottery, descend the breath taking Golomoti Escarpment, experience a brush with history at Mua Mission or simply relax and unwind on the beautiful southern lake shore.
