On an unspoiled, idyllic island
Kick off your shoes and enjoy simplistic beauty in palm thatched cottages and open living spaces.
Manda Bay Lodge is located on the North-western tip of Manda Island, Lamu Archipelago, on the Kenya Coast. Manda is within a 20-minute boat ride of the ancient Arab town of Lamu, which was established in 1370. It is now a World Heritage Site and is one of oldest continually inhabited towns in East Africa. Whilst Manda Bay is unpretentious and perfect for those looking for a quiet getaway.
There are twenty-two cottages with a choice of double or twin beds. Eleven of these rooms are on the beachfront, with five behind and there are six garden rooms at the back. The cottages are spacious and comfortable with their own bathrooms; they are specially sited to catch the cooling sea breezes and all have their own verandas. Manda Bay has a stunning infinity pool surrounded with numerous loungers and hammocks.
Guests can be as active or as relaxed as they chose to be, but there is a lot on offer. Here you’ll find peaceful, safe waters, no one else on the beach, exceptional water sports and hosting, a private airfield, big game fishing, and salt-water fly-fishing. From the water sports centre you can water ski, wake board, kneed board, banana boat, sail, windsurf or take a snorkel to explore the coral reefs surrounding the bay.
