Maun is a pleasant city in which to spend a bit of time before or after your Botswana safari holiday.
The gateway for all Maun and Botswana safari holidays, the town has one of the busiest airports thanks to the amount of light air traffic coming in and out from the parks and reserves. Maun itself is growing at quite a rate and now boasts shopping centres and a wide variety of shops and restaurants.
There are two daily flights to Johannesburg as well as at least one daily flight to Cape Town so it’s pretty well connected to South Africa as well as other internal destinations.
Usually Maun is a one-night stop at the start or finish of your safari holiday, and you really don’t need any longer here than this! There are a few Maun hotels and lodges that offer good standards of accommodation so you’ll be comfortable during your stop-over.
