Location: Linyanti Bush Camp sits in The Linyanti Concession, one of northern Botswana’s most rewarding private concessions, tucked beside the wildlife-rich marshes that fringe Chobe National Park. The landscape is untamed and striking, with wide floodplains, ancient trees and year-round water that draws in large herds of elephant and buffalo, especially during the dry months. You’ll have this pocket of wilderness largely to yourself, with just a handful of other vehicles in the area.
Rooms: With just six canvas tents raised on wooden platforms, this is a camp that feels personal, relaxed and in tune with its surroundings. Inside, the tents are surprisingly spacious and well-appointed, with proper beds, en-suite bathrooms and private decks looking out over the plains. Guests love the sense of privacy and calm, and you might well spot game from your veranda with a morning coffee in hand.
Amenities: At the heart of camp is a simple but elegant main area, open-fronted and full of natural textures, with a lounge, bar and firepit deck for easy evenings under the stars. There’s a small plunge pool with views that stretch out across the grasslands, perfect after a warm afternoon in the bush. Meals are hearty, fresh and sociable, often served communally in the open air or around the fire. Think sunrise breakfasts, generous bush lunches and dinners under the stars with a good bottle of wine.
Activities: This is a fantastic area for big game, and your guide will tailor each day to the conditions. You’ll head out on day and night drives, boat safaris and bush walks, with seasonal mokoro trips when water levels allow. What we love is the diversity of experiences — and how wild and unspoilt it all feels.
Sustainability: Linyanti Bush Camp is closely connected to local communities through a number of thoughtful initiatives supported by the African Bush Camps Foundation. These include the Disability Unit at Kachikau Primary School, which now provides safe, accessible education and care for over 30 children with special needs. There’s also a strong focus on empowering women, from training female guides to creating jobs through the Vuche Vuche Basket Weaving Project. Guests are warmly welcomed to visit and engage with these projects, offering a deeper, more meaningful connection to the region and its people.
