The Pangolin Chobe Hotel is perched on a hill above the town of Kasane, the gateway to Chobe National Park, and is just a short drive from Kasane International airport. Kasane has flights to and from Johannesburg, which take about two hours. If you're transferring by road from Victoria Falls it's only 15 minutes from the borders of both Zimbabwe and Zambia. The hotel is known for it's photographic safaris and has excellent facilities to accommodate photographers.
There are 14 air-conditioned bedrooms, with either double or twin beds. Each has an ensuite bathroom and private balcony, as well as a safe and plenty of room for luggage and camera equipment. There's a central dining room, an eco-pool with a sunken lounge area, a bar terrace, and even a special air-conditioned editing area for photographers. The hotel has wi-fi too. On the walls you'll find inspiring wildlife photography, and the views from the bar out over the pool terrace and the Chobe River are simply stunning. Evenings are all about gathering around the fire pit to share stories and swap camera tips before dinner, which is sometimes a South African barbeque known as a 'Braai'.
When it comes to wildlife photography, Chobe National Park is one of the best locations you could choose, with animals and bird-life in abundance. Th Pangolin Chobe Hotel offers morning and afternoon activities, with opportunities for safari by specialist photo-boat as well as on land in custom-built vehicles. For those without cameras there is free DSLR camera and memory card rental for use during your stay.
