Our absolute favourite thing about Kanazawa is Kenrokuen, one of Japan’s most famous gardens. Here, water, trees, and stone come together in perfect harmony. The garden shifts with the seasons, from cherry blossoms in spring to rich autumn colours, making every visit feel fresh.

The city’s history and creativity meet in places like the Nomura-ke Samurai Residence, where you can step inside a samurai’s world, and the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, which offers a modern contrast with its striking design and thought-provoking exhibitions.

Kanazawa Castle stands as a reminder of the city’s feudal past. The castle grounds are peaceful and lovely, with ponds and gardens that invite a slow stroll and moments to pause.

Food here is a true highlight. Omicho Market buzzes with fresh seafood and local treats, including the city’s unique gold leaf-covered sweets, a delicious reflection of Kanazawa’s refined taste.

To round off your visit, enjoy a traditional tea ceremony in one of Kanazawa’s tearooms. Sipping matcha in this calm, authentic setting offers a quiet connection to the city’s elegant culture.
