There’s a relaxed, artistic spirit to the rooms here, each one individually styled with handcrafted furniture, collected artworks and a soft palette of natural tones. Whether you’re in a garden-view room or one of the spacious suites overlooking the lagoon, you’ll have air-conditioning, private ensuite bathrooms, and space to unwind. For families or longer stays, the Water View Suite is a lovely option with two bedrooms and a private terrace.
Amenities
There are two swimming pools to cool off in, tropical gardens dotted with hammocks, and open-air living spaces that feel more like someone’s home than a hotel. The Thimble craft workshop adds a lovely creative energy, and you can also take a kayak or paddle boat straight onto the lagoon.
Activities
Spend your days as gently or actively as you please; birdwatching at dawn, cycling along local trails, visiting temples or joining a Sri Lankan cooking session in the outdoor kitchen. A visit to the in-house crafts studio is a highlight, especially if you're travelling with children or enjoy hands-on creativity.
Sustainability
Villa Hundira was founded with a heartfelt vision - to provide a warm, beautiful space for guests, while supporting local women through the Thimble community project. The on-site studio employs and empowers women from nearby villages, offering skills training and creative work. When you stay here, you’re helping sustain that mission.
