The Gitanjali Homestay is a good accommodation option in a quiet spot just outside of Mysore city, at the bottom of the Chamundi Hills. As a family-run homestay it’s an altogether different experience from staying in a hotel, so while you will have all the comfort and privacy you need, you can also expect friendly service, family pets and authentic home cooked local cuisine. You can take the recipes home with you.
Accommodation is in separate cottages, each with four rooms with air conditioning and attached bathrooms. Rooms share a common verandah looking out over the gardens. The only concessions made to modern life are WiFi and kettles, otherwise it is just you and the birdsong.
This is a good option for those who want to explore the treasures of Mysore, but also enjoy a relaxing stay away from the hustle of the city.
