The style of Malabar House reflects Kerala as a passage between East and West, tradition and modernity - a blend of contemporary art and design with traditional Keralan architecture. The historic house dates back to 1755 and has passed through the hands of European and Indian spice traders before becoming a boutique hotel.
A member of Relais & Châteaux, the 17 rooms are tastefully designed and comfortable, with stone floors, air-conditioning and attached bathrooms. When hunger and thirst strike there is a wine lounge and outdoor restaurant offering a fusion of Keralan and Mediterranean cuisine. Ayurvedic oil massages are also available.
Malabar House is in a central location of Fort Cochin which makes it a good base for exploring this harbour town. You are within strolling distance of the old churches, synagogues and Chinese fishing nets, and the hotel has complimentary bicycles for your use. You are also only a few hours drive from the backwaters of Kerala.
