Explore the best jungles of Central India and get up close with a huge range of wildlife, including the occasional wild tiger.
India is home to a huge variety of wildlife - 350 mammals and 2100 species of birds, all co-existing in national parks spread across the country. Stay in a hotel on the edge of these parks, and during the day you can drive around in open top jeeps to get up close with many of the creatures of the jungle.
The following itinerary takes in three different national parks in central India, but your own holiday can be tailored to combine any of these with visits to other parts of India. Get in touch and let us know what you fancy.

The itinerary…
Day 1: Take to the skies
Take the overnight flight from wherever you are to New Delhi.
Day 2: Welcome to India

Delhi's Lodi gardens
On arrival in Delhi you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Put your feet up and get ready for the adventure to come.
Day 3: Explore Delhi

Safdarjung's tomb in Delhi
Today head out with your guide to explore Old Delhi with its magnificent Red Fort, winding alleys and bazaars, and take a cycle rickshaw to the magnificent mosque at Jama Masjid. Later on stop at the tomb of the emperor Humayun, and the medieval tower at the Qutab Minar.
Day 4: To Kanha National Park

An inquisitive tiger in Kanha
We will drive you to the airport in Delhi to board your 1h40m flight to Nagpur in central India. We will then drive you about 5 hours to Kanha National Park, the setting for the Jungle Book and one of the largest reserves in India. Home to 22 species of mammals and 200 species of birds, the large areas of open grassland make Kanha an excellent spot to see tigers when they emerge from the forest cover.
Day 5: Kanha National Park
You have two game drives inside the reserve today – one in the early morning and another in the late afternoon – in an open-top jeep with your own expert naturalist guide. You can spend the rest of the day relaxing in your lodge.
Day 6: Kanha National Park
A second day of game drives in Kanha – morning and evening.
Day 7: Bandhavgarh National Park
King's lodge - a good option for Bandhavgarh
We will pick you up in the morning and drive you about 6 hours to Bandhavgarh National Park. A former royal hunting ground, Bandhavgarh is probably the best place in the world for spotting tigers in the wild. Check in and put your feet up.
Day 8: Bandhavgarh National Park

A Tiger Having a Drink
Today you will have two game drives in the jungle, one in the morning and a second in the afternoon, in an open-top jeep with an expert guide.
Day 9: Bandhavgarh National Park
Explore more of Bandhavgarh with two game drives inside the park.
Day 10: To Panna National Park
We will collect you from your hotel in the morning and drive you about 4.5 hours to Panna National Park. After checking in to your hotel, head out for an evening game drive inside Panna. Tiger sightings here are less common, but the park is home to other rare species like leopards and wolves, and there is plenty of other wildlife to spot.
Day 11: Panna National Park
Start the day with a boat ride on the river Ken, and a game drive inside the park. In the afternoon visit the famous temples of Khajuraho with their intricate carvings.
Day 12: Orchha, Jhansi & Agra

Orchha
Today it’s time to experience Indian train travel. You'll be driven 3-4 hours to Jhansi to board your train to Agra, stopping on the way to explore the beautiful historic town of Orchha. At Jhansi board the Shatabdi Express train at 18:10 – with dinner served on the train - and arrive at Agra at 20:30 to transfer to your hotel.
Day 13: Agra & the Taj Mahal

Taj Mahal from the river
Head out with your guide for a private tour of Agra to explore the Red Fort and watch the sun set by the Taj Mahal.
Day 14: Jaipur – the Pink City
It’s about a 4-hour drive today from Agra to Jaipur, with an interesting stopover on the way at the 16th century deserted city of Fatehpur Sikri.
Day 15: Jaipur – the Pink City

The Amber Fort at Jaipur
A full day to explore the Pink City of Jaipur. There’s a lot to see, so start at the milk market and move on to the Amber Fort with its palace of mirrors, the City Palace and museum, the astrological observatory of Jantar Mantar and the Hawa Mahal – the palace of winds. Then enjoy the evening with dinner and music.
Day 16: Return to Delhi & fly home
Check out of your hotel before 12 noon, and we will drive you to Udaipur airport to fly back to Delhi. At Delhi we will take you to a nearby airport hotel to connect with your return flight home.
