Ilala Lodge

Located in the heart of Victoria Falls, Ilala Lodge hotel is the perfect base for those wanting to experience all that the area has to offer, with easy access to all of the popular activities and historical sites. The hotel is so close to the world famous Victoria Falls that guests can hear the thundering of the water from the dining room, while impala and warthog (regular visitors to the hotel) graze outside. Road transfers from any of Zimbabwe’s main airports can be arranged, or alternatively you can self drive.

Ilala lodge has 56 rooms with a choice of standard rooms, standard suites, deluxe rooms and executive suites. The ground floor rooms have private doors opening out onto the gardens, whereas the upper tier bedrooms possess a private balcony. No matter what accommodation option you choose, all of the rooms have en-suite bathrooms and modern amenities such as air conditioning, fridges and wi-fi. Main areas include the famous Palm Restaurant, which serves a variety of delicious dishes and is very accommodating when it comes to dietary requirements. There is also a swimming pool and a poolside bar.

There is a huge variety of activities to do near Ilala lodge. The walk to Victoria Falls only takes eight minutes, which provides plenty of opportunity to explore the waterfall on foot. Alternatively, you can choose to fly over it by helicopter, a truly spectacular experience. You can also embark on a boat ride down the Zambezi River or take part in some high adrenaline activities such as white water rafting or bungee jumping. Safaris are another recommended experience. The hotel is in close proximity to Victoria Falls National Park and the Zambezi National Park, both of which offer brilliant wildlife viewing opportunities.
