Breathe in the majesty of Africa’s wilderness

A lodge that combines the African wilderness with luxurious accommodation to provide a wonderful and unique experience.

Situated in the Matobo Hills, Zimbabwe’s oldest national park and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Amalinda Lodge is a fantastic safari destination. Surrounded by majestic kopjes and granite domes, the camp gives guests the opportunity to witness untamed Africa at its finest. The surrounding areas are home to a plethora of birds and animals and the reserve is famed for it’s endangered rhino population. The camp is less than an hours drive from Bulawayo Airport.

Accommodation at Amalinda Lodge includes 9 thatched rooms, deliberately built in various sizes and styles to ensure that each one is different. Each gives the guests a feeling of being in a cave (an extremely comfortable and furnished one), with boulders often forming the walls. There are three categories to choose from – Standard, Family and Suite. However, all rooms have en-suite bathrooms and there is a choice between a ground level or an elevated room. Amalinda’s main areas are built on multiple levels and include a lounge, a restaurant, a spa and an infinity pool.

Cultural aspects of the area are the main focus at Amalinda lodge. Visits to the graves of both Cecil John Rhodes and Leander Starr Jameson are available and are definitely worth seeing. This region also has one of the highest densities of San rock art. Alternatively, you can visit a nearby village and learn about the Matabele people’s way of life. Game drives and bush walks are available, and the lodge offers the amazing opportunity to track both white and black rhinos on foot, with the chance to get quite close to these wonderful creatures.
